A letter from Thomas Stone to Walter Stone, written on December 3, 1783.

Papers: ca. 1786, 1 item.
A letter from Thomas Stone to his brother, Michael Stone, written around 1786. In the letter, Thomas Stone writes concerning the lack of wise and temperate men in politics, the issue of paper money in Maryland, and various land purchases; and advising him to get married, settle in a healthy place, and get out of debt. The end of the letter, with the signature, is missing.

A letter from Thomas Stone, together with fellow Maryland delegates to the Continental Congress written on April 16, 1776. Other delegates who have signed the letter include Robert Alexander and Thomas Johnson, Junior. In the letter, the Maryland delegates send a letter by James Rae, waggoner, covering James Rae’s delivery of one ton of powder to the Eastern Shore for the use of the Council of Safety and request a receipt by return. The letter notes that the powder is not for Cecil County as it has been supplied separately. A note at the bottom of the page talllies the number of barrels sent. An engraving of Thomas Stone accompanies the letter.
