The collection documents former Congressman Don Fuqua’s entire career in Washington. Papers include: General Subject Files that contain the bulk of the information contained in the collection with the majority of documents being correspondence to the Representative and his response; Legislative Files that contain copies of the various bills that Rep. Fuqua was interested in and may contain some correspondence with other members of Congress or constituents; Political Campaign files contain correspondence, reports, invitations, and bank records dealing with the various elections from 1963-1986; County Files which contain correspondence, newspaper clippings and other sources of information pertaining to the counties that make up the Second Congressional district; Projects and Establishment files are subject, correspondence and technical files that cover the various activities of government agencies that run projects, e.g. federal executive agencies, in the 2nd district; Post Office Files are similar to the projects files but deal only with postal matters or post offices; Public Relations Files contain press releases, qquestionnaires newsletters, scripts for radio or television advertisements; Personal Files contain statements/speeches, position papers and views, autographs/photographs, records of contributions made and declined, records of gifts given and received, and material concerning Killearn Properties in Tallahassee; Photographs, Scrapbooks and Memorabilia contains those elements that portray the Representative’s career and interests from the beginning to the end. Photographs: 1962-1984, 23 photographs.
This collection of color and black and white photographs depicts U.S. Representative Don Fuqua at various meetings, speeches, and events, including meetings with United States Presidents Lyndon Johnson (in 1969) and Ronald Reagan (in 1984, with Senator Lawton Chiles). The collections also includes a mounted 10”x13” color photograph of the Space Shuttle Columbia launching from Kennedy Space Center in 1982.

This collection contains publicity photographs of Congressman Fuqua from 1963 to 1986. Also included are some magazine and newspaper articles which concern the congressman. A number of the photographs are of Congressman Fuqua and his wife, Nancy taken at politically related social events. Other photographs are of Congressman Fuqua in his role as a member of the Committee on Science and Astronautics, later named the Committee on Science and Technology. These include photographs of Astronaut Sally Ride, the Challenger Astronauts, and Astronaut Dr. Linda Fisher. Other photographs were taken of Congressman Fuqua at the McDonnell Douglas Astronautics Company with the Subcommittee on Manned Space Flight, Committee on Science and Astronautics.
