Guide to Research Collections Jacksonville State UniversityUniversity Library Jacksonville, AL Papers: ca. 1943-2006, 450 linear feet. The John Glen Browder collection contains legislative papers, office documents, campaign files, academic research, media coverage, and miscellaneous memorabilia from Glen Browders lengthy career as a public official and political scientist. The collection also documents Glen Browders work with the Democratic Party and his political consulting activities in the 1970s and 1980s, his campaigns and activities as a public servant, starting with his work as an Alabama state representative, Alabama secretary of state, his election and service as a Representative of the U.S. House of Representatives, and his unsuccessful campaign for the U.S. Senate. Of particular interest is Glen Browders work with education reform in Alabama, campaign finance reform, budget reform, national security, and his work as a founding member of the Blue Dog Coalition.
