BEILENSON, Anthony Charles, a Representative from California; born in New Rochelle, Westchester
County, N.Y., October 26, 1932; attended schools in Mt. Vernon, N.Y.;
graduated, Phillips Academy, Andover, Mass., 1950; B.A., Harvard University,
1954; LL.B., Harvard Law School, 1957; admitted to the California Bar in 1957
and commenced practice in Beverly Hills; served in California State assembly,
1963-1966; California State senate, 1967-1976; elected as a Democrat to the
Ninety-fifth and to the nine succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1977-January 3,
1997); was not a candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Fifth Congress;
chairman, Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (One Hundred First
Congress).
