TAYLOR, Herbert Worthington, a Representative from New Jersey;
born in Belleville, Essex County, N.J., February 19, 1869;
attended the public schools, and was graduated from the law school of the University of New York, New York City, in 1891;
was admitted to the New York bar the same year and to the New Jersey bar in 1897, and practiced in New York City and Newark, N.J.;
member of the common council of Newark 1899-1903;
member of the State assembly in 1904 and 1905;
chairman of the Essex County Republican committee 1913-1917;
delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1916;
county counsel of Essex County 1916-1921;
elected as a Republican to the Sixty-seventh Congress (March 4, 1921-March 3, 1923);
unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1922;
resumed the practice of law in Newark, N.J.;
elected to the Sixty-ninth Congress (March 4, 1925-March 3, 1927);
unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1926;
resumed the practice of law in Newark, N.J., where he died on October 15, 1931;
interment in East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Delawanna, N.J.
