STRANGE, Luther Johnson, III, a Senator from Alabama; born in Birmingham, Ala., March 1, 1953; B.A., Tulane University, 1975; J.D., Tulane University Law School, 1979; admitted to the Alabama Bar in 1981, and engaged in the practice of law in Birmingham; attorney general of Alabama 2011-2017; appointed as a Republican to the United States Senate to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Jefferson Sessions, and took the oath of office on February 9, 2017.
