Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington, 1946; M.D., Northwestern University
Medical School, Chicago Ill., 1950; J.D., Washburn University Law School,
Topeka, Kans., 1970; served in the United States Air Force, 1953-1955;
discharged with rank of captain; practiced medicine in Topeka, Kans.,
1955-1970; elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-second and to the Ninety-third
Congresses (January 3, 1971-January 3, 1975); was not a candidate in 1974 for
reelection but was an unsuccessful candidate for election to the United States
Senate; unsuccessful candidate for election to the United States Senate in
1978; resumed the practice of medicine in Topeka; is a resident of Topeka,
Kans.
