PUJO, Arsène Paulin, a Representative from Louisiana; born near Lake Charles, Calcasieu Parish, La.,
December 16, 1861; attended public and private schools; studied law; was admitted to the bar in
1886 and commenced practice in Lake Charles, La.; delegate to the State constitutional convention in
1898; elected as a Democrat to the Fifty-eighth and to the four succeeding Congresses (March 4,
1903-March 3, 1913); chairman, Committee on Banking and Currency (Sixty-second Congress);
was not a candidate for renomination in 1912; resumed the practice of law in Lake Charles, La.; died
in New Orleans, La., December 31, 1939, while on a visit for medical treatment; interment in Orange
Grove Cemetery, Lake Charles, La.
