Del.; farmer; Lewes, Del., militia, Revolutionary War, 1777; member of the Delaware state house of
representatives, 1782, 1784, 1787, and 1793-1794; lawyer, private practice; admitted to the bar,
1785; treasurer of Sussex County, Del., 1785-1796; Member of the Continental Congress, 1786;
died on December 17, 1800, in Cool Spring, Sussex County, Del.; interment in the churchyard of the
Cool Spring Presbyterian Church, Sussex County, Del.
