MITCHELL, Charles F., a Representative from New York; born in Bucks County, Pa., February 18, 1806; attended public schools; moved to Lockport, N.Y., in 1829; appointed one of the firemen of the village May 21, 1829; engaged in grain milling and other businesses; elected as a Whig to the Twenty-fifth and Twenty-sixth Congresses (March 4, 1837-March 3, 1841); relocated first to Flemingsburg, Ky. and later to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he died on September 27, 1865; interment in Spring Grove Cemtery, Cincinnati, Ohio.
