LUNDINE, Stanley Nelson, a Representative from New York; born in Jamestown, Chautauqua County, N.Y.,
February 4, 1939; graduated from Jamestown High School, Jamestown, N.Y., 1957; A.B., Duke
University, Durham, N.C., 1961; LL.B., New York University School of Law, 1964; admitted to the
New York bar in 1965 and commenced practice in Jamestown; mayor, Jamestown, 1969-1976;
elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-fourth Congress, by special election, to fill the vacancy caused by
the resignation of United States Representative James F. Hastings, and reelected to the five succeeding
Congresses (March 2, 1976-January 3, 1987); was not a candidate for reelection in 1986, but was
elected lieutenant governor of New York; reelected in 1990 for the four-year term beginning January
1, 1991; unsuccessful candidate for lieutenant governor of New York in 1994; is a resident of
Asheville, N.Y.
