HANLEY, James Michael, a Representative from New York; born in Syracuse, Onondaga County,
N.Y., July 19, 1920; attended the Syracuse, N.Y., schools; graduated from St.
Lucys Academy in 1938; United States Army, 1942-1946; business owner; elected
as a Democrat to the Eighty-ninth and to the seven succeeding Congresses
(January 3, 1965-January 3, 1981); chair, Committee on Post Office and Civil
Service (Ninety-sixth Congress); was not a candidate for reelection in 1980 to
the Ninety-seventh Congress; died on October 16, 2003, in Geddes, N.Y.
