GIBBS, Florence Reville, (wife of Willis Benjamin Gibbs),
a Representative from Georgia; born in Thomson, McDuffie County,
Ga., April 4, 1890; attended the public schools; was graduated from Brenau
College, Gainesville, Ga.; elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-sixth Congress
to fill the vacancy caused by the death of her husband, Willis Benjamin Gibbs,
and served from October 1, 1940, to January 3, 1941; was not a candidate for
reelection in 1940 to the Seventy-seventh Congress; retired from public life
and resided in Jesup, Ga., until her death there August 19, 1964; interment in
Jesup Cemetery.
