FALLON, George Hyde, a Representative from Maryland; born in Baltimore, Md., July 24,
1902; attended the public schools, Calvert Business College, and Johns Hopkins
University, Baltimore, Md.; engaged in the advertising sign business; chairman
of the Democratic State central committee of Baltimore, Md., in 1938; member of
the Baltimore city council 1939-1944; elected as a Democrat to the
Seventy-ninth Congress and to the twelve succeeding Congresses (January 3,
1945-January 3, 1971); chairman, Committee on Public Works (Eighty-ninth
through Ninety-first Congresses); unsuccessful candidate for renomination in
1970 to the Ninety-second Congress; resided in Baltimore, Md., where he died
March 21, 1980; interment in Greenmount Cemetery.
