1965-1966; elected as a Republican to the Ninetieth and to the four succeeding
Congresses (January 3, 1967-January 3, 1977); was not a candidate for
reelection to the Ninety-fifth Congress in 1976, but was an unsuccessful
candidate for election to the United States Senate; director of public affairs,
U.S. Steel Corporation, 1977-1980; director of programs and seminars, American
Enterprise Institute, 1981-1987; died on June 19, 2010, in Ann Arbor,
Mich.
