EDWARDS, Caldwell, a Representative from Montana; born in Sag Harbor, Suffolk County,
N.Y., January 8, 1841; was educated in the district schools; salesman and
bookkeeper in dry-goods stores for several years; moved to Bozeman, Territory
of Montana, in 1864 and became engaged in agricultural pursuits; member of the
State house of representatives 1901-1905; elected as a Populist to the
Fifty-seventh Congress (March 4, 1901-March 3, 1903); was not a candidate for
renomination in 1902; at the expiration of his term returned to his ranch in
Montana; died in Sag Harbor, N.Y., July 23, 1922; interment in Oakland
Cemetery.
